Renn Faire 2012!!!

It's dragon and fairy time again...

Time to bust out the bodices.  I'm not sure Amy and I will ever be busting out of anything, but we had fun dressing up like wenches.  Note Amy's great hat - and her tankard.

Archery!  It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye!

Lorelei was a crack shot.  All those summers of archery lessons at Tom Sawyer's summer camp must be paying off.

Jack and Patrick looking pretty determined.  (I think Patrick was as excited about the archery  as the kids.)  We also did a couple of slow turtle races that were pretty hilarious.

One of the amazing fairies from this year! 

Another one of the really extraordinary fairies. Their makeup and costumes were exquisite and they had a cool, slow way of moving that really did make them look other-worldly.

Plus, the grownups at faire pretended like they couldn't see them, which the kids really liked.

And an ogre!  Ahhhhh!  Jack hid behind me the whole time we were near him.

It poured on Friday and was chilly on Saturday, but we got beautiful ice cream weather for faire on Sunday.

We were very lucky to have Kathi and Petur with us this year.

Patrick put some finishing touches on his costume (thank you Amy and Jamie and Bell and Steve!)  He got a cool little clip to hold his tankard.  Now all he needs is Petur's dragon belt.
