"Well the girls would turn the color of the avacado..."
I don't suppose you ever saw the play that Steve Martin wrote, Picasso at the Lapin Agile? It was amusing little meditation on an imaginary meeting between Picasso and Einstein. David and I saw it on stage in Westwood when it came out. Probably worth watching, although I cant vouch for the YouTube version.
As I recall, doesn't Elvis also make an appearance in that play?
Wow, Picasso is really old. And yet his paintings still look fresh and vibrant. I just re-read some of Surviving Picasso, and even though he pretty much comes off as a big a-hole, you still can't deny that he was one unique, and absolutely talented force of nature. I don't think any painter has been that good since.
Amy, after working on the script about Einstein's first wife, I feel the same way about him. Incredible man, incredible mind, incredible way of seeing the world, but all in all, not a very nice guy to be married to. I can't remember the exact quote, but when he and Mileva were divorcing, his friend said something very interesting to him about how he had never met anyone else who had such compassion for mankind - and yet such little understanding of his fellow-man.

Exactly! Which is why it's really good that you and I are married to such generic men.
Amy
I see what you're saying. I'm divorced because I'm an a-hole genius...
generic: the next generation - everyone can sing like Tom Petty.
