Happy Trails!

Last Sunday, after a triumphant shoe shopping trip, we went on a great hike with Amy and Jamie and Felix through Ferndell and up to...Trails! A fabulous little restaurant in the midst of Griffith Park.
Judging from their decoration, Trails was still feeling the Halloween spirit. I guess Thanksgiving just isn't quite as exciting, decoration-wise.

It was a GREAT outing, I swear, despite Finn's expression. We were all getting a little hungry by the time we got to the top. Luckily, everyone perked up when Patrick bought a scone and Jamie bought some shortbread cookies. Yum!

A couple of brothers...

And their very cute cousin. (Both Jack and Finn promptly fell off this bench shortly after this picture was taken. Apparently it was slippery.)

Technically, this picture probably should have come earlier since this was on our way up, but it didn't capture the festive spirit of the trip quite as well as that first picture of Amy.

These are one of the two pairs of shoes we bought for our guys. It's hard to tell, but these shoes are dinosaurs, complete with light up eyes. That shoe store was too cool for our pocket book's good. Thanks to Amy and Jamie and Felix for a great Sunday outing!

Cool post! Cool restaurant in the middle of the park! Cool shoes! The coolness is just unbelievable!

Thanks for a fun Sunday excursion. Glad the boys found shoes that they love, but sorry that you had to pay for them!

Felix just came by and saw the pictures of Trails and said very definitely, "I wanna go there again!" And I agree, we should make another trip there for breakfast. Anyone else want to join?

Totally! We're gone this weekend, but maybe we could go for Jamie's birthday next Sunday morning? There's a fun park up there just a little further that the kids love, too.

Thank you for the great shoe store recommendation and the excellent tips on how to not drive the poor sales woman crazy!
