Oregon (Pt. 2)!!!

After we left beautiful Ashland we headed for Cottage Grove and Peepaw Mike’s farm (By the way, “Peepaw” is what the kids call the male grandparents in the family – my dad’s dad is Great Peepaw Hank). Molly and Dad were so welcoming as usual and we quickly adjusted to the farm life. It is so beautiful there!! There are also so many fun things to do, although it is also super-relaxing (at least for those of us who don’t have to do the gardening!!). Here are some pictures of the farm experience (thanks to Kenny & Krista for the use of their great pictures!):

The farmhouse - built by Dad & Molly!!

Beautiful organic veggies!!
Grandma Molly helps the kids to find good onions.

The new guest house (we didn't stay here, but it is really great). I know Dad will be embarassed by this picture : )

Finn's plum tree - yum!!
Lost a shoe!!

Of course the ultimate farm experience is going in the swimming hole!! The first day was a little chilly & we were kind of worried about our chances of going in at all, but the sun came out after that and we had some great swimming days!!

Finn's first jump off of the rocks!! Obviously not the best picture, but I wanted to show the historic moment - he was so brave!!!

Jack coming in! It was still a little cold for him (with no body fat!) He was so nervous that it looks like he is actually walking on water! (just a funny picture moment)

So refreshing!!

I must know:
What became of the Giant Immovable Rock? Was it incorporated into the guest house?

Eric, I believe that the rock has stayed happily in its resting place right behind the guest house. But Dad will have to confirm that.

So sorry I couldn't make it to Peepaw's and Molly's; partly so I could have said Peepaw hundreds of inappropriate times, but also because it is a really magical place with wonderful people, scenery, food and fun...a point your blogs make painfully clear!!!! Next year on the Farm!

I know what you mean, Jeff. I'm kicking myself for not getting up there with the family this year. Oh well, NEXT YEAR!!!
